Learn to drive. We offer driver education classes and private driving lessons for teens and adults in the greater Salem area.
Students are secured in class in the order in which payment is received. If a class fills before your payment is received, you may arrange for a later class date. Any registration not secured with payment within seven days of registering will be deleted. Classes fill quickly. We encourage you to pay by credit card when registering to secure your seat immediately. If you would like to pay by check, please include the student's name when sending payment and allow 3-5 business days for mailing time. You may log in to your account on our website to make payments at any time.

ODOT-Approved Teen Package
This course will allow our teenagers to go through life pursuing their dreams while driving safely from one point to another without their lives being cut short by an avoidable traffic collision.
- Nationally-Recognized Curriculum: Oregon's Risk Prevention Curriculum (the Playbook) is nationally recognized.
- Certified Instructors: All instructors complete a rigorous 120-hour certification program that includes Oregon traffic laws, classroom teaching and management, and behind-the-wheel instruction. All instructors are also First Aid and CPR certified, complete 15 hours of continuing education credits annually, and teach at least 30 hours in an ODOT-TSO-approved program every two years.
- Specially Equipped Vehicles: All vehicles have an instructor brake, additional mirrors, and clear signage indicating "Student Driver."
- Proven Performance: Teens who take driver education learn skills that lead to lifelong safer driving. Based on 2018-2022 ODOT DMV data, teens (ages 16-20) who did not take driver education received 86.6% of the citations issued, and 85.3% were involved in crashes.
Price includes a $210 subsidy/discount from the ODOT fund for teen driver education.

Behind-the-Wheel Lessons
Whether you have never driven before or would like a refresher lesson before your road test, our instructors are very patient and will teach you at your own pace. You'll learn safe driving habits that reduce the risk of a collision. We teach you to drive in many types of environments and conditions. You'll develop defensive driving skills as well as perceptual skills to identify road hazards and dangerous road conditions. Learn more about what we teach.
Lessons are two hours long and provided by an ODOT-certified instructor in a specialized training vehicle with dual brakes. Choosing a package with more hours allows more time to cover preparing for the DMV road test, distracted driving, and poor driving conditions (ice, snow, rain, fog, etc.).
We offer free home pick-up and drop-off service within 10 miles of downtown Salem. Home pick-up and drop-off is also available within 10-20 miles of downtown Salem for an additional fee. We will contact you within one business day of your registration to discuss this with you and schedule your first driving lesson.
You must have a valid Oregon learner's permit, restricted license, or driver's license to register for driving lessons.

DMV Knowledge Test Prep Course
Get help to obtain your license and pass the DMV test.- Knowledge Test Prep Course: Typically held on a Sunday from 8 AM until 4 PM, this course offers everything you need to pass the DMV Knowledge Test. You only pay once and we work with you until you pass.* During class, we explain each section of the Oregon Driver Manual. The concepts are explained in a way that is easy to understand using simple explanations, videos, and pictures.
- Eight practice exams: Sent directly to your phone, you can complete the practice exams anytime. Practice after attending the class and boost your confidence before your DMV test. These exams allow the instructor to identify any questions you may be struggling with so he can further explain until you understand the correct answer. Once the instructor determines you are ready, he will give you the green light to go to the DMV to take your official test. Should you need assistance, the instructor is available to help.
- Option for driving lessons: You have the option to select a package that includes 2-hour driving lessons from an ODOT-certified instructor in a specialized training vehicle with dual brakes. The lessons prepare you for the DMV road test with a mock driving test to assess your skills.
- Option for one-on-one tutoring: Our private tutoring services adapt to your learning style and proceed at your pace. This option is great for students who do better in a more relaxed atmosphere without the pressures of a class setting. Each tutoring session is 1-2 hours long. Instructors are patient, well versed, and use easy-to-understand language and explanations.
If you prefer to take a written version of the DMV test instead of on a computer, we can help in getting approval. We can also assist you with scheduling your appointment with DMV.
Don't live in the Salem area? No worries; we offer the option of taking the class through Zoom. Not very good with technology? No problem; we can help you with that, too.
*Included assistance for three months. Class may be retaken up to three times as part of the one-time registration cost. Spaces are limited, and classes fill up quickly, so don't wait to sign up for the next class.
